"Boogie Board" is an acrylic painting based on a trip to Oahu. My husband and I saw two boys taking a rest from a day a surfing on the famous Sunset Beach. Every time I look at this painting, I think of that particular day of touring.
This painting taught me how to repair a torn painting. I had somehow managed to tear it after I had just completed painting it. Talk about frustration! With a bit of ingenuity, medium, acid-free glue, and paint, I was able to repair it successfully.
I started painting in oils in 1992, merely as a hobby. I then played around in watercolors in the mid '90's. Finally, in 1997, I retired from my full-time job as a computer specialist to devote all my time to painting. Around the same time, I also discovered the wonderful world of acrylics, and now have been painting in this medium ever since this discovery.
