I painted this beautiful creature as a tribute to those magnificent animals prowling the ice in the northern hemisphere. They are indeed endangered as their icy hunting grounds diminish as a result of global warming.
I started painting in oils in 1992, merely as a hobby. I then played around in watercolors in the mid '90's. Finally, in 1997, I retired from my full-time job as a computer specialist to devote all my time to painting. Around the same time, I also discovered the wonderful world of acrylics, and now have been painting in this medium ever since this discovery.
